Just another awesome weekend in Paradise!

Exmouth is Paradise!

The seasons are changing in Exmouth, slightly cooler mornings, but still warm days.  It's my favourite time of the year, not too hot, not cold yet.

This was just another average weekends, same same as all the others, just slightly different in it's own way, like all the others.

We knew Saturday was going to be an awesome day on the water so we were up early and down the gulf in Little Thing.
Our usual favourite spots where not fishing, and the sandflies were fierce!  So making the most of the glass off conditions we headed out further then normal.

200th fish for 2018
First cast on this never before used lure got me onto my 200th fish for the year.  I caught a few more smaller stuff, but our new locations turned it on for Johnno on fly.  If we were counting Johnno's fish instead of my own I'm sure he would be over 800 already, the little reef fish love his home made flies!

One of the MANY Jacks we were able to cast at, this was the only one that made it to the boat, well done Johnno!
Saturday night we found the perfect excuse to drink way too many beers with friends!
Three years ago 4 of us girls who worked together (and still do in a different location), started a now yearly fun Squid competition.  More to follow all about this in my next blog as the comp is next weekend.  We decided we needed to have a meeting to finalise rule etc: two minutes of the whole evening was spent talking about the serious stuff for next weekends rules, the rest was serious drinking.

New trophy for our yearly comp, with past winners:
2016 John Marven
2017 Geoff Daniels
So when I finally pulled myself out of bed later than normal on Sunday morning, I was not feeling too flash.  But we had planned to get Black Thing on the water to see if we could find the Sailfish that we 'almost' caught last weekend.  The weather forecast was looking good, and I was imagining a glass off day like the one before.  That was not the case.  White caps as we left the marina, but I was confident it was going to calm down, and while we were moving I seemed ok.  Not the case either.

It was straight after my first chunder over the side that we seen the second big mackerel for the day swim past.  Quick change to deeper diving lures.
It was straight after my second throw up over the side, while we were still trolling, that my reel started screaming off line.  I suddenly felt so much better,  I was cured of this horrid sea sickness hangover!  But that didn't last long, once my muscles started aching from the fight with this big fish, then my head started pounding, then my whole body started shaking.  That was when Johnno thought it would be funny to video me in this horrid state.  I guess I will find it funny one day to, laughter is the best medicine, and I believe it's healthy to be able to laugh at yourself, so here's the GoPro footage, of me very hungover playing a non forgiving Tuna.

My last bit of strength was used to get this photo while shouting at Johnno to hurry up before I pass out!

I started feeling so much better on the way home, when the water finally calmed down.

Dance as if no-one is watching!

...because no-one is, they are too busy with their own lives!

What would you do if you know you could not fail?

I know I keep coming back to this one, but I believe this is The Meaning of LIFE!

James Price Point, Broome WA

What would you do if no-one was watching?
Why aren't you doing that anyway?

What are the things you want to do most in life?
Why aren't you doing them?

Time in nature makes me happy!

I'm all about the simply things in life at the moment, making the most of every moment, person, taste, smell, feeling.  Savouring the hear and now.

Time with friends who make me laugh is important!
