How do you get motivated?

Motivation is horse shit I know this.

Just F'n Do It!

But it helps when you get a little push.

3 of my 20 goals for 2020 involve getting back into lifting weights.
Why: Because I miss my muscles!
         &  I like feeling strong.
But yet knowing these things was not enough to get me started lifting weights again.

Then this happened...

I caught a big FAT 94cm Barramundi

I was devastated at not being able to hold up my beautiful big fish for a photo.  Then I got angry at a missed opportunity for a great photo.

It's such a rushed moment in time.
We do not want to keep
Once I got her off my knee, I still couldn't hold her right.
these big girls out of the water, we want to return them while still healthy to swim off and make more babies for us to catch in the future.  So ya have to get everything right straight away.  Lucky for me Johnno is good at getting the fish in frame, so we did end up with one good photo, that's all you need one good photo.  Then she was back in the water and I was already planning the start of a new muscle building routine!

Still trying.

But Johnno GOT THE SHOT!!
My beautiful fat 94cm barramundi.

So that's it.  Weights Start...next week!!
hahaha no serious, baby steps, it's been a while but back into it.
No before photos, i'll just wait till I get my guns back then show them off.

Getting her back in the water,
where she can support herself, so I don't have to.
If anyone actually ever reads my Blog, why would you I dribble a lot about myself and there is so much else to read out there.  But Barra was caught on live bait at a popular fishing spot on the Fitzroy River WESTERN AUSTRALIA called Telegraph.....because there is a telegraph pole there, so you can't miss it!

Just one more shot!  Check out that tail!

Here's a YouTube clip if you want to see the fishing action:

Smart Goals & 1st blog for 2020

I set 20 goals for the year 2020!

20 things I want to do this year!!
Goal number five = 20 x 5km's running

Why: I haven't run continually and/or consistanly for over a year now.  I haven't exercised at ALL for over 6 months now.  I don't like the way it makes me feel, unfit and tired, and I'm not a fan of how my body is changing. SO I'm taking action!

Specific = Run 5km's continually without stopping 20 times this year
Measureable = 5km's is 5km's it's not rocket science, but I do have a chart to tick off 20 times!
Attainable/Achievable = I know I have the knowledge, it is just finding the right head space.
Relevant = I WANT to be fit again! And this goal fits in with 2 of my other longer term goals.
Timely = I have all of 2020, but this goal also helps me stay on target for two of my other goals.

I'm feeling on top of the world after running 5km's continually AGAIN this morning!
I did it yesterday as well!
Some of my goals are BIG and i'm not ready to reveal them yet.
Some of them are a surprise for people, so I don't want to reveal them yet.
:)

I have in the past been rather obsessed with numbers, and being an all or nothing kind of personality when I got sick of counting numbers I just stopped all fitness goals, instead of being sustainable and realistic.  So this year I set realistic goals, that I know I CAN DO, but I still have to get up off the couch and find my happy place in my head space to do them = get happy & fit Karen back!

I started walk/jogging occasional running on the treadmill the end of 2019, but not consistently.  So first step in 2020 was just to get on the treadmill every single morning!
Goal number 3 REALLY helps with that! = Run/jog/walk a total of 2020km's in 2020!
That is 5km's EVERY day!  And since  I have already missed 3 days I do not want to get too far behind.  BUT I don't want to be too obsessive either.
This is where goal number 4 comes in:  1 x 20km's continual!  In preparation for this I will start building up longer run/walks, so days off are totally ALOUD!!!
At the time of setting these goals running 20km's continual did not seem very realistic or attainable.  Now only a week into the year I'm thinking it will have to be running, not walking ;)  But the goals was not specifically running, so that I do not get freaked out about it this early in the year. :)

So their you have a basic run down of 3 of my goals for 2020, I'm sure I will talk more about the others once I start working more seriously on them also.  Important thing to remember, these goals are for ALL of 2020 just because I didn't start all of them on New Years Day (i started none of them that day), does not mean I have failed, they are Timely!
Oh and goal number 13: Write 20 Blogs!  so I have now started that one as well!

New Years Day 2020

Boxing Day Barramundi Fishing in The Kimberley wet season

Last Barra for 2019!

What a great way to end the year!

That's what we came for!!

OMG I love you Johnno!!!

2020 has begun, and one of my 20 goals for this year is to write 20 blogs.  This, when I share my YouTube clips will not be counted as a 'blog writing' unless I do a full article about the day, and anyway, this was so last year ;)

Happy New Year everyone.

:)
