Rainy day blues: A tribute to Aussie Bird

We got sad news today: The wonderfully funny & entertaining Aussie Bird died last night.
Our beautiful Aussie Bird, who went to his new home when we left on our beach adventure.
I had been thinking of him already, ever since earlier in the week when I found a wild Corella dying on the side of the road. Others had seen him and left him there.  I couldn't bare to leave it slowly dying there on the hot road side, but yet I didn't know what to do with him either.  Luckily a nice man came to my rescue and took it away 'for his wife to look after'.  I never did ask afterwards what happened, I know he took the responsibility away from me, and i was thankful for that.

Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi!
I think about our lovely Aussie all the time, it's hard not to, there are so many Corella's here, and he was such a character.  So loud, as Corella's are.  He made us all laugh when he would imitate our laughter, dogs barking, actually all often repeated noise's.  It made as very aware of words that we repeated over and over.  I'm pleased to say my laugh was his favourite, just showing how much I did laugh when he was around...seems I growled at Charlie a lot when he was around too, hahahaha.

Not ideal fishing conditions again this weekend.
Our long weekend off together has lead to NO plans at all, which is rather strange for us, but the weather is cold and wet, something we aren't used to, and we're not sure what to do with ourselves.  After the news about Aussie we needed to get out of the house.  We took a short walk down the marina chucking poppers, but with 100% chance of rain in the afternoon we didn't stay out long.  Home again now, relaxing with a coldie for Aussie (yes any excuse).   I'd like to share with you all some funny moments with our little feathered baby, so you can understand why he was loved so much by all who cared for him.
Aussie enjoying showering in the sprinkler.
Unlike us, Aussie loved playing in the rain!

Aussie loved it when Johnno would whisper sweet nothings in his ear!

One of his favourite games: Spin me around Johnno
'Come On, Come On'

Tongue Kissing a Corella can get very scary!

A biggest thank-you and loving hugs to Stella for looking after Aussie Bird for the last year and a half.  Thank-you for giving him another happy fun home.  Thank-you for letting us go on holiday worry free.  Thank-you for letting him fly free again. xxx
